I recently brought my lifted truck into Kraken Auto to have the tie rods replaced. Since my truck has a lift, they had to special order the specific parts required. They had originally quoted me for both the inner and outer, but once they got the truck in the shop and inspected it, they were completely honest and told me that only the outer tie rod actually needed replacing. Instead of just performing the work as quoted, they called me to explain the situation, which ended up saving me over 50% on the repair. To top it off, they provided a loaner vehicle while they worked on my truck and followed up afterwards to ensure everything was running perfectly. It’s incredibly rare to find a shop that operates with this level of integrity and customer care, especially when dealing with custom setups. I’m very impressed and will definitely be returning for my future automotive needs.

Excellent shop. They tightened my lug nuts for free before I gave them any business. Really good work and communication from the team. Highly recommend!
I would give 100/100 if I could....excellent service and a most satisfactory experience...special mention to Ryden as he is a truly great ambassador to Kraken Auto. He managed all my requests with expediency and transparency. Thanks very much!
Take your car somewhere else.
Take your car somewhere else. Editing with context given your response: To begin: 1. I called when Kraken advised. Days after I dropped off the vehicle for inspection. You are being disingenuous stating I called on Canada Day asking for the earth and the moon. You told me to call on Canada Day. Shady comment Kraken. Again, I called when you advised. When I did call, your employee was not prepared at all and could not provide a clear timeline or cost. If he would have advised I call later, I would have. Blaming the customer for not meeting a timeline you set is pretty bad. Also, he was supposed to call me. I had to follow up. Not professional. 2. He kept mentioning the fact Kraken auto had to ask Land Rover for information on everything, and that this was some sort of niche vehicle that made things more complicated for them. It's a 5 year old Discovery. That was frustrating. It made me feel like you guys were in over your heads and I couldn't trust you. That made me uncomfortable. Don't put that on me. If you're not comfortable with a brand, don't accept it. As well, your employee should not be so open about how much you're leaning on another mechanic for information. I obviously took it to that mechanic the next day. It was great advertising for them. 3. Your employee did not handle the situation well. He would just filibuster without providing information. Dismiss my concerns, take no responsibility for not being ready, .....it was very grading. I get there are reasons things are delayed but that's not on me. I don't want to be stuck in a multi-week process where I slowly find out the timelines and how much it's going to cost, when this is my only vehicle. He should have been more sympathetic to that OR at least put a little effort into seeming empathetic. 4. My unreasonable request was wanting a Loaner Vehicle. Which your company markets as available. Obviously, you have none available, no timeline has to how long my car will be out and I have kids to take to daycare. I would rather not rent a car on top of paying for vehicle repairs. Your employee acted like I was crazy for wanting a loaner, that again, you market as an offered service. I really did not appreciate that. It was rude. If you don't have any, advise before I clearly really need one. In the end, I took the vehicle to LandRover. They quickly told me how long and how much it would cost. Did the repairs in 1.5 days. I contested some charges on my bill and they accommodated me without making me feel like I'm a terrible person for representing my interest. LandRover loaned me a Range Rover that day btw. I don't think my customer Rep at LandRover is crazy about me either. I contested the amount on the bill......I made them check an item again that sounded off......but he was a pro and dealt with it, got the money and moved on. Sometimes you need to deal with difficult customers. Not just blame them for your shortcomings, then gaslight them into thinking it's on them. It's not just about doing the work (which you did not seem confident about), it's also about managing expectations, communicating competency and dealing with confrontational situations that you may be somewhat responsible for. Everything single negative review on your page is dismissed in your response. Every single one. Exactly like my experience dealing with this mechanic. No accountability. If there's an issue, its the customer's fault. The reality is, the customer guy at LandRover is better at his job than the customer guy at Kraken. He didn't ramble. He listened to my concerns and reacted. Clearly this was a man that has worked in customer service and understood how to do his job. You can spend your time defending yourself in the comments or you can actually listen to what a customer is trying to tell you. It seems like you simply do not want to be held accountable for your professional performance, feel you are above criticism and would prefer to dismiss issues by blaming your customers.
Hi Sammie, yes please, we encourage you to take your vehicle elsewhere. We were open on Canada day when you called in wanting a price to fix your Land Rover. We explained multiple times that all our parts suppliers were closed for the statutory holiday, including the Land Rover Dealership. So we could not get complete pricing for you until the next day. You were extremely rude to our staff and demanding things over and over that we could not accommodate on a Holiday. My staff gracefully told you we would not work on your vehicle that that we felt it best you find a different shop.

Great service. I was there several times now and have no complaints. Very good communication and very transparent. Would definitely recommend!
Ditched the dealer for various reasons. Now this is the only place I want to service my vehicles. Honest and clear, the people are good at what they do so makes it easy to trust the work. Would recommend to anyone, support your local shop.
I have found te team at Kaken Auto very helpful and professional. They overhauled my BMW x3 engine 2 yeas ago and did a great job. I just had my car detailed and am very happy with the job
Great work/service
Great customer support and very quick mechanical work. Couldn’t have asked for a faster and straightforward process. Would definitely recommend.
EDIT: Received a call day after leaving review where they acknowledged mistake made on their part and booked me in at my convenience with a significant discount. Good customer experience and work was completed fast. ---- Booked vehicle in for tire swap/oil change online through website few weeks ago and dropped vehicle off early in the morning, placing key in drop box. Went to pick it up 30 mins before they closed and no work had been done. Turns out their drop box has a ledge that keys "get stuck on" from time to time. Would have been nice to get a call since I was scheduled and no keys were found. Maybe implement a policy to check said ledge for keys? Maybe a new drop system if this happens frequently? To their credit they tried to squeeze me in next day - but I needed the car. Best they could do was a week after that. Not the first time the shop has disappointed me (saved about $700 on a suspension job by going somewhere else last year after they quoted me) but i figured I could at least get a tire swap and oil change hassle-free.
I had a great experience at NAPA Auto Repairs and Dental friendly, professional staff, quick service, and fair pricing. Highly recommended!!
They were very friendly & professional too. Work was done in a timely manner
I had a driver side window fail and fall of the tracks over a weekend and it cracked. I was looking at calling the usual local Euro shops, but Kraken popped up in my search and I've seen them pop up on my social feeds, so I figured why the heck not. I gave them a call. I was connected with Ryden and they were able to take me in and diagnose it. Unfortunately, for the age of my vehicle, I was told the replacement would be an arm and a leg, and from OVERSEAS. Which ultimately didn't make sense. Ryden worked his magic and was able to source the exact part at a fraction of the cost. What I loved most about my experience with Kraken Auto was the communication and transparency. In the end, I was set up with a courtesy vehicle to continue shuttling my kids around and was given a ring and text that the vehicle was ready to be picked up. I wasn't happy paying the amount I did, but I was happy Kraken repaired it at the price that they did. They gave the vehicle a complimentary inspection and gave me a final invoice with quotes to address any items that have not been done. That was a nice touch, I'll definitely be back for an upcoming service. Thumbs up to Ryden and the rest of the Kraken Auto team.
Great service. Friendly staff. Quality workmanship.
I needed a battery and I expressed that I didn't use the car much so to put in the least expensive battery. They did what I asked. What I liked was they also gave me a printout of estimates for a few other things that needed to be done on the Car. I did need tires badly and an oil change was coming do. So I made another appointment and had it done. They did a great job and provided me with a comprehensive printed description of what they did via the Wheel Alignment. I appreciated their transparency. I felt the prices were commensurate with their good service. I had to leave my car for a full day with each appointment so don't expect to be able to just get in and get out. Over all the staff and service was professional and personable. I will definitely be using their service again in the future.
I normally wouldn’t write feedback, but the way they handle things feels almost like a joke I couldn’t hold back. I went to the Tesla service center nearly three weeks ago (maybe even longer) to get a price estimate. I provided them with all the documents showing what the issue was and which parts needed to be replaced. In other words, they didn’t need to do anything except review the paperwork and give me a quote for the parts to be changed. They told me they would send it within a day, but it’s been three weeks, and only now have they sent an update email. Customer satisfaction: -100
Hi Muhammet, I understand your frustration. Unfortunately we have been inundated with estimate requests over the last few weeks and have not been able to keep up. Tesla quotes specifically are more time consuming and locating parts takes more time. We did email you to let you know the estimate would take at least a week (not a day). When we completed it we tried calling you twice to go over it but could not reach you. 2.5 weeks is longer than we would like to take, and we are working to bring the wait time down. We are continuing to hire more staff but there are still times where stuff piles up. Also... I wouldn't exactly say you don't normally wouldn't write feedback. Your google profile has a long list of only 1-star reviews you have posted to many companies, including other service centers. That said, we are striving to get everything done as quick as possible.
always do great work!
My experiences at Kraken have all been extremely positive! The staff are all so friendly, helpful, and they clearly communicate what needs to be done as well as all of the options available. Their use of texts to communicate and approve work was an added bonus and super efficient! They alll go “above and beyond” to ensure customer satisfaction and I highly recommend Kraken Auto!
Fast service! Excellent communication! Fair price. Knowledgeable service techs. 11/10 review!
Best mechanics in the city! Wouldn't ever go anywhere else!
Great service from friendly and knowledgeable staff. I always get all my work done here including tire change overs.
My wife has been going here for years and I finally brought my vehicle in. Really great experience with amazing folks working there. I didn’t feel pressured, and I trusted everything they said and did. I will be back forever. Highly recommend.
I am so impressed with Kraken Auto. I came in thinking I needed the works done for my vehicle, and was willing to spend $1700+. They called me letting me know that I didn’t need the service that I thought I did and saved me hundreds of dollars. I wouldn’t have known any different to be honest. 🤷🏼♀️ As a someone who knows nothing about cars, I feel safe taking my vehicle here!! Everyone was so transparent and kind! 🙂
I had an amazing experience renting a u-haul. The overall process was neat and thank you for the great hospitality Tip!
Great Local Kensington shop - friendly, efficient and thorough.
Thanks to the team at Kraken! Both my vans went down within the same week and they were excellent with communication and honest pricing. Strongly recommend.
I was very pleased with the excellent service and explanation's from your knowledgeable staff. Thank you for your follow service as well. Much appreciated for the care and attention
A review of the shop service manager, Steve. I called to ask advice on purchasing a new-to-me car. Steve gave me 24 min and 27 sec of his time in advice and managing expectations. Everything from explaining service specifications, what to watch for, expected bills, the car I'm considering vs what I have now. Excellent service. To the mechanics and office staff: I hope you take pride in how your are represented by Steve. He speaks very highly of all of you. Do good work, exercise diligence and vigilance, don't bend on quality. Steve sets that tone, and so that is the expectation I have of this shop.
Always get good service here. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.
Hi there, I am always happy when I bring my journey here. They are great bunch of guys, always pleasant and respectful. I leave happy and super satisfied with their work.. ALWAYS spot on, helps me feel secure that they'll get the job done. Also go far and beyond to tell me what is needed and what they fix. AWESOME Great job guys ROBIN
I had a problem with my car other places couldn’t figure out but they solved the problem. I will be bringing all my car problems to these guys amazing job !
Steve and Tim are fantastic mechanics. They always explain the issue clearly, give me options, and back everything up with real technical know‑how. They’re honest, efficient, and easy to work with. Highly recommend them. I highly recommend and will continue to bring my vehicles for service.
I’ve taken my car to Kraken for a number of years, and find them always friendly, knowledgeable, reliable and reasonably priced. I recommend them for any vehicle maintenance work.
Honest Excellent service Good guys
Reliable and professional team of client relations and service techs. Open to customer requests and feedback. I'm not trying to live at the garage but will be happy to return when my car needs it!
Perhaps the best shop experience of my life. David and his team treated me like they cared. They completed the work on our vehicle quickly and expertly. So grateful to have come across this gem. Kraken for the win 😉
Super happy with the winter tires Kraken put on our truck. Awesome service and extremely knowledgeable.
Kraken is an amazing garage. Excellent workmanship, customer service and very trustworthy. Can’t recommend them enough.
They got us in really quick!
Have been twice now, and these guys are my new go-to shop. Service is friendly, and the work is done properly and quickly. Inspections and reports come with photos, so you can authorize any suggested work. Last job came in under the quote too, which was nice. Their late pickup is a great service. Thanks!
Excellent service - fast and friendly - able to come in short notice. Thaks crew!
Always receive honest friendly service. Accommodating to get me a loaner vehicle. Knowledgeable about my Audi Q5, without the price the dealership charges. Final bill was reduced since I did not require to replace certain parts to replace CV joints, saving extra $200 less than quoted.
Fast, responsive and quality car repairs. They quickly determine your issues and only repair what you approve in advance. They include comprehensive analysis, with pictures, of anything else they find which may require more diagnosis and/or repair. I’ve had numerous vehicles repaired at Kraken and highly recommended them!
Honest, thorough, and actually know EVs! Highly recommended shop and will be my go-to shop in the future. I had my Jaguar towed to Kraken Auto in Kensington after getting an $8,500 quote from Jaguar themselves for a supposed brake lock actuator issue and auxiliary battery fault that turned out not to be the real problem at all. The dealership made me wait almost two weeks just to hear back, then threw out a number that did not add up or make sense. Kraken Auto was the complete opposite experience. From the very first text message, they were clear, communicative, and transparent about what they were going to do. They were even hesitant to quote anything up front because they wanted to actually understand the problem first, despite all the information I forwarded from the Jaguar service advisors. They have true EV specialists and proper diagnostic tools, and it showed in how meticulously they reviewed the issue. They took the time to understand the problem before touching the car, walked me through their thinking step by step, and never tried to upsell or overcomplicate anything. What they did: - Performed a proper computer system scan and reset - Identified that the 12V auxiliary battery was likely causing false fault codes - Replaced the small 12V auxiliary battery - Reset the system again - Test drove the car to confirm the issue was fully resolved Result: my Jaguar is running perfectly. The total bill was around $600 to fix the issue it was brought in for. I also asked them to do some extra work for my own peace of mind, which they were happy to do, but it was not something they pushed or recommended just to increase the invoice. No scare tactics, no invented problems, no random “50/50 parts and labor” split. Just careful diagnostics, fair pricing, excellent communication, and a proper road test to prove the fix actually worked. I highly recommend Kraken Auto as your go to repair shop, especially if you are tired of feeling like a walking ATM at dealerships. They earned my trust and my future business in a single visit.
Thank you so much for the glowing review Claire! We were very happy to find out the repair was so much less than what you were quoted elsewhere. We look forward to seeing you again next time you need anything.
